Called tenpura (with a n) in Japanese, tempura was introduced by the Portuguese living in Nagasaki. Although tempura is served at long-established specialty reastaurants, you can also easily make it at home. Dip seafood or vegetables in batter made from flour mixed with eggs and water, then fry them.
